Crossing Jordan

Revolving around feisty, fearless and sexy forensic pathologist Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh, ‘Crossing Jordan’ is an American crime drama series that made its debut on September 24, 2001. The title refers to the biblical metaphor of Israelites crossing River Jordan to reach the promised land. It stands for death and crossing over into the promised land of afterlife. The driving force in her life is the murder of her mother in her childhood which left her scared emotionally and the resulting trust issues are apparent in all her relationships with men. She is a brilliant investigator with passion for solving homicide so management puts up with her even though she can be pain in the butt at times. She often role plays the events leading to the murder along with her retired- police detective father or Det. Macy and at other times with Det. Hoyt, with Jordan posing as either victim or suspect in order to understand the circumstances of the crime like a profiler. Her unorthodox methods often test her personal and professional relationship with Det.‘Woody’ Hoyt.
